About

The Talent Compass is a reputable talent buying agency that provides its clients with extensive guidance in navigating the complex and ever-changing world of live entertainment. We specialize in college music and entertainment, booking A-list artists to perform concerts, comedy shows and lectures. The Talent Compass simplifies the booking process and liaises with talent representatives, making it easy for universities, corporations, performing arts centers, associations, non-profits and other organizations to secure top notch artists within their allocated budget. Always reachable via phone or email, The Talent Compass will show you the way.

In addition to booking nationally touring artists, we have had great success conceiving and producing first ever college appearances – by the cast of “Modern Family,” ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption,” James Cameron, Flight of the Conchords and others. The Talent Compass is a member of the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA). We also represent select talent exclusively on the lecture circuit.

Our core services:

  • Brainstorming ideas, researching new opportunities, and generating tailored lists of available acts within budget and genre parameters
  • Identifying accurate fees, availabilities and interest of ANY artist
  • Providing swift responses to all questions. We are nimble – reachable by phone or email at a moment’s notice
  • Effectively negotiating deals and knowing what to ask for on behalf of its clients. We work for the buyer, not the artist
  • Expertly advancing dates: travel, production, promotion, contracts and payments
  • Attending and producing events

The Founder and President of The Talent Compass is Jonathan Tunick, who maintains high level relationships and buying power with talent agencies, management firms and speakers bureaus. With twenty years of experience booking talent, Jonathan’s highly personal, hands-on approach enables buyers to enjoy what can be a stressful and confusing process, while receiving the best bang for their buck. Jonathan’s career includes seven years at the William Morris Agency where he started off in the prestigious Agent Training Program (including a brief “rite of passage” in the storied WMA mailroom), and went on to found the college lecture and comedy division, representing a vast roster of exclusive clients such as Whoopi Goldberg, Queen Latifah, Christopher Reeve, Russell Simmons and many more. Jonathan grew up in the Catskill Mountains’ “Borscht Belt,” the onetime mecca of live entertainment in the country, where he worked backstage in the region’s famous resort hotels, meeting many of the entertainers he would represent in the future. Jonathan graduated cum laude from Brandeis University in 1992.
